This musket ball was recovered from the wreck of the Nuestra Señora de Atocha, the legendary Spanish galleon that sank in a hurricane off the Florida Keys in 1622 — carrying one of the richest treasure cargoes ever assembled. For over 350 years it lay on the ocean floor before being brought to light by the legendary salvage operation of Mel Fisher.
